COVE salvage program

Admission office assistant Danielle Smith shared the following post with me:

Now that finals are over students take on their next challenge — the daunting task of packing up to leave Colgate for the summer. To make the move a little easier Colgate’s Center for Outreach, Volunteerism, and Education (the COVE), offers to take donations of any items that the students do not want to take home or put into storage. Students were generous with a plethora items ranging from clothes, shoes, cleaning supplies, and food, to household items like lamps, kitchenware, bedding, and even couches. Student and staff volunteers help the COVE to collect all these items over the course of two weeks and arrange them by category. Local charity organizations are then invited to come in and “shop” for what will be most beneficial for the people they serve. Click here to learn more about the COVE.
