You can’t dampen the spirit of the Class of 2015, Irene!

By Tiffany Huggins on August 29, 2011

This past weekend was orientation for our new first-year students. Last night all members of the Class of 2015 had dinner with their orientation groups, and then The Founders’ Day Convocation ceremony took place. Convocation is one of Colgate’s most memorable traditions; this ceremony commemorates the devotion of the thirteen people who established Colgate, and celebrates the beginning of the academic tradition for the Class of 2015. Normally there is a torchlight procession lead by Colgate’s senior honor society, Konosioni, but tradition had to change a little with Hurricane Irene! Instead, members of Konosioni welcomed the Class of 2015 with candlelight procession in the Chapel.
