A Capella groups kick off family weekend 2013

By Kayce D'Onofrio on October 26, 2013

Last night on October 25th, 2 of Colgate’s 3 co-ed a Capella groups held a concert in the chapel to kick off Family Weekend 2013. The Colgate Dischords sang first with the hit “Somebody That I Used to Know” by Gotye, creating a roar of applause from families and fellow students. After about 7 songs, The Dischords graciously bowed and exited the stage for The Colgate Resolutions to take over. The “Resos” as they like to be called, began with the pop hit “Royals” by Lorde. With roars of cheering and applause bouncing from wall to wall, the Discords and Resos truly put on an amazing show! The a Capella excitement continues tonight with The Colgate 13 and The Colgate Swinging Gates performing in the chapel at 7:30. The 13 and the Swinging Gates are Colgate’s only all male and all female a Capella groups on campus. If you’re on campus tonight, you should definitely check them out!
