ReThinkPink: Breast Cancer Awareness

By Kayce D'Onofrio on October 1, 2013

Colgate hosted yet another Brown Bag Lunch event earlier today. Today’s topic: ReThinkPink a Breast Cancer awareness event. Sponsored by Colgate’s Womens Studies department and the Breast Cancer Awareness Club, ReThinkPink brought Gayle Sulik to speak, the Executive Director of Breast Cancer Consortium and author of “Pink Ribbon Blues: How Breast Cancer Culture Undermines Women’s Health.”

For some background knowledge, Colgate’s Shaw Wellness Center frequently hosts events known as Brown Bag Lunches. These lunches are rather intimate events that allow students to discuss their thoughts with the guest speaker or even with each other. They’re a great resource that helps students learn more about their health. And you get a free lunch out of it! What more could you ask for?
