Colgate Women’s Crew finishes fall season

By Catherine Walsh '16 on November 4, 2013

This weekend, Colgate Women’s Crew sent four boats to New Jersey for the US Rowing Small Boat Championships to end their season. The team raced well, despite racing against much larger teams, such as Radcliffe and Princeton. The team left on Saturday morning and returned on Sunday afternoon to finish out their fall season. While in New Jersey, the team got to meet Lauren Schmetterling ’10, who recently was a part of the United States Women’s 8+ that just won the gold medal at World Championships in September.

Highlights of the season include 1st place finishes in both the single and the quad at the Cayuga Sculling Sprints at Ithaca College and a second place finish in the single and a third place finish in the double at the Head of the Fish regatta. The team will enjoy a week off of training before winter training picks up so they can get ready for a busy spring of racing!
