The Vagina Monologues

By Catherine Walsh '16 on February 16, 2014

This weekend was the premiere of The Vagina Monologues. If you’ve never heard of the show, it’s basically just what it sounds like, a collection of monologues about vaginas. Well, it tells the stories of many different women about their experiences with all sorts of topics that have not really been talked about openly before.

My friend and I went to see opening night on Friday night. The evening started with an hour of poems that people wrote about their own experiences or poems that others wrote. The show itself was fantastic; it made me laugh and cry and I absolutely loved it. Best part of it was that we has an opportunity to make a donation to the Victims of Violence women’s shelter in Utica. The show is still running today so if you haven’t seen it, I’d highly recommend it!
